Cooling Dross and Salt Cake saves money through preserving metal units and improves the casthouse environment by reducing fumes.

When dealing with salt cake from a rotary furnace, an important issue is the lengthy time required to cool the salt cake before it can be land filled. Typically, it can take 24-36 hours when using traditional fabricated containers; cast steel containers will reduce this time to 12-18 hours. Our patented salt cake cooling system will reduce this time to 4-6 hours. This rapid cooling reduces the amount of pans and floor space required and improves aluminum recovery from the salt cake.
