Altek - New Area Sales Manager
ALTEK have the pleasure of welcoming Dan Stephenson to the UK team. Dan, formally from London & Scandinavian Metallurgical (LSM), has extensive industry experience and will join ALTEK as an area Sales Manager. Some of the areas he will cover are the Middle East, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France.
Altek given the Queens Award by Lord Lieutenant in their new premises.
Over 140 customers and partners converged on the new Altek plant and head office in Chesterfield, UK. The Lord Lieutenant gave the ceremonial presentation of the Queens Award for Enterprise to Altek's MD Alan Peel and the Altek team. With the new facility now fully fitted out, Altek's manufacturing efficiency and productivity are able to service the worldwide demand for its products. Guests were given tours around working examples of Altek's Electromagnetic Stirring technology and Tardis Generation ll dross press technology, giving many their first understanding of Altek's range and comprehensive technological scope in aluminium recycling. As MD Alan Peel said in his presentation "A significant sector of our market is the 1,000,000 tonnes of aluminium trapped in dross alone - where Altek's presses are making huge improvements in metal recycling and recovery in casthouses throughout the world". The celebrations included an excellent meal and a chance for many people to make connections and renew acquaintances.
ALTEK is awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise - International Trade
On April 21st 2011 it was announced that ALTEK EUROPE Ltd has been awarded the Queens Award for Enterprise - International Trade.
Managing Director of ALTEK EUROPE Ltd, Alan Peel, stated of the award, “This is a great moment for the company which we launched in 2007 to support the growth in aluminium production and aluminium recycling around the world. The company has a range of unique products that are recognised as world leading and are being used by hundreds of aluminium companies all over the world. The ALTEK team is small in its number of employees. However the team here in the UK, and our sub‐contractors, as well as our strategic partners from all over the world have made this Award possible. It is a great credit to the whole ALTEK team and their partners. We look forward to continuing our export growth and we are currently in the process of expanding our UK operations to support this initiative.”

With the support of the Australian and international aluminium industry, CAST is organising the Aluminium Cast House Technology in which Altek will be attending. This is the 12th Australasian Conference & Exhibition and is here to address the needs of the primary, secondary and recycling industries.

Altek will be attending and presenting its technologies in the 12th International Foundry Trade Fair in Dusseldorf, Germany, the most important fair for foundry technology in the world. There will also be a WFO Technical Forum accompanying the fair.

See us at ALFED RECYCLING CONFERENCE, China, 9 - 12 May 2011
The Aluminium Federation (ALFED) and The China National Resources Recycling Association (CRRA) are host to this year's Aluminium Recycling Conference. Speakers over the conference will discuss commercial and technical matters (including a presentation by Mark Bumford) in the aluminium industry.
